This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) explains how Superior Healthcare Clinical Informatics Consulting, LLC (“SHCI,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information about you when you visit shciconsult.org (the “Site”), purchase our books or digital products, become a member of The Institute for Healthcare IT Consulting and Leadership Development, participate in our member community, or otherwise use our products and services (collectively, the “Services”).

Our Site is hosted on the Squarespace platform. By accessing or using the Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

1.  Information We Collect

1.1  Information You Provide to Us

  1. Account & membership information: your name, email address, username and password, chosen membership tier (L1–L5), and any professional or profile details you choose to provide.

  2. Purchase & billing information: billing name, billing address, and the payment details you submit to purchase memberships, eBooks, or Advisory Services. Payment card information is collected and processed by our third-party payment processor (Square); we do not store full payment card numbers on our own systems.

  3. Advisory Services information: scheduling details and any information you share in intake forms or during Strategy Sessions or Executive Coaching Sessions.

  4. Community information: profile details, posts, comments, and other content you submit within member community spaces.

  5. Communications: information you provide when you contact us, complete a form, subscribe to our newsletter, leave a review, or respond to a survey.

1.2  Information Collected Automatically

When you use the Site, we and our platform provider (Squarespace) may automatically collect certain information, including your IP address, device and browser type, operating system, referring and exit pages, pages viewed, links clicked, and the dates and times of your visits. This information is collected using cookies and similar technologies (see Section 4).

1.3  Information From Third Parties

We may receive information from the service providers that support our Services — for example, transaction confirmations from our payment processor, engagement data (such as email opens and clicks) from our email marketing provider, and aggregate usage data from our analytics providers. If you access our community or any linked service using a third-party login, we may receive limited profile information as permitted by that service and your settings.

2.  How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  1. Provide, operate, and maintain the Site, memberships, community, and Services;

  2. Process transactions and deliver purchased products and member benefits;

  3. Create and manage your account and authenticate access;

  4. Schedule and deliver Advisory Services;

  6. Send newsletters and marketing communications where permitted (you may opt out at any time);

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information as follows:

  1. Service providers / processors that operate the Services on our behalf, including Squarespace (website hosting, commerce, forms, analytics, and email campaigns) and Square (payment processing). These parties may access personal information only to perform services for us and are obligated to protect it.

  2. Professional advisors, such as accountants and attorneys, as reasonably necessary.

  3. Legal and safety purposes, when required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of SHCI, our members, or others.

  4. Business transfers, in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets.

  5. With your consent or at your direction.

4.  Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Our Site uses cookies and similar technologies for functionality, security, preferences, and analytics. As our hosting provider, Squarespace sets cookies necessary to operate the Site and to measure traffic and performance. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling certain cookies may affect Site functionality. 5.  Third-Party Links and Services

The Site may contain links to third-party websites and services, including Amazon (for purchases of the print and Kindle editions of the book), LinkedIn, our community platform, and payment pages. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those third parties, and this Policy does not apply to them. We encourage you to review their privacy policies. Purchases of the book on Amazon are governed by Amazon's privacy policy.

6.  Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Services, maintain your account and membership, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

7.  Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. Payment processing is handled by PCI-compliant providers. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8.  Your Privacy Rights and Choices

8.1  General

You may review or update your account information by logging in or by contacting us. You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link included in each message; we may still send you transactional or account-related communications.

8.2  California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

California residents have the right to know about, access, correct, and request deletion of their personal information, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information and certain targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights, and you may use an authorized agent. To submit a request, contact us using the information in Section 13.

8.3  EEA and UK Residents (GDPR / UK GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. We process personal data under the legal bases described in Section 2.

8.4  Other U.S. State Residents

Depending on your state of residence, you may have similar rights to access, correct, and delete your personal information and to opt out of targeted advertising or the sale of personal information. Contact us to exercise any rights available to you.

9.  Do Not Track

Some web browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (“DNT”) signal. Because no common industry standard for DNT has been adopted, our Site does not currently respond to DNT browser signals.

10.  International Data Transfers

We are based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. If you access the Services from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.

11.  Children's Privacy

The Services are intended for professionals and are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
