The Institute for Healthcare IT Consulting and Leadership Development was founded on a single belief: that the professionals who power this industry deserve more than trial and error. They deserve the knowledge, the community, and the direct access that turns a career into a calling.

Our Story

Superior Healthcare Clinical Informatics Consulting, LLC was founded on January 2, 2013 with a vision to bring innovative style, professional development and expert training skills to the Healthcare IT industry. As the world landscape is ever-changing, so is healthcare’s demand for the delivery of new and innovative medical workflows by highly-skilled Healthcare IT consultants needed to guide clinicians through medical software adoption initiatives for superior patient care.

I heard the call to action fourteen years ago when I career-pivoted in 2012 from Education Leadership to Healthcare IT. This portal is designed for the Healthcare IT curious professionals to the career-consultants who have made the pivot into their current professional careers as seasoned, Healthcare IT Consultants.

My name is Ponchitta Turner-Bondojia, founder of Superior Healthcare Clinical Informatics Consulting, LLC. I welcome you to a new world of Healthcare IT Consulting.

Our Founder

Ponchitta Turner-Bondojia, M. Ed

I am an Epic-certified Principal Trainer with more than fourteen years supporting Epic implementations end to end. My work has taken me to over thirty health systems nationwide, from academic medical centers and cancer institutes to community clinics, where I have trained more than 5,000 clinicians and hold credentials across twenty-plus Epic modules.

Most of that work happens at the point where clinical, technical, and administrative teams meet. I support project life cycles end to end: training, leading, and working alongside clinical leaders while coordinating across those groups. My focus areas are stakeholder communication, workflow optimization, curriculum development, training environment build, and provider personalization. I have led and supported multi-module go-lives across Ambulatory, Cadence, OpTime, ClinDoc, Orders, Beacon, and Stork, standing in command centers at five in the morning and at the elbow of physicians learning a system they did not choose.

I came to healthcare IT from Education. Before Epic, I was a school principal and later Assistant Chief of Academics for Louisiana's Recovery School District, work that earned the State Superintendent Award for Turnaround School Improvement. That background shapes how I teach. Adults learn under pressure differently than they learn in a classroom, and a go-live is nothing but pressure. It is why I build curriculum around what a clinician actually has to do on Monday morning, then layer in the depth once the daily work is solid.

I founded Superior Healthcare Clinical Informatics in 2013 for the clinician who keeps hearing that Epic consulting is a good career and cannot find a single person willing to explain how to get there. The nurse who has trained every new hire on her unit for six years and does not know that is a credential. The physician informaticist who has outgrown her role and has no map for what comes next. And the professional coming from outside healthcare entirely, who brings real skill in training, project management, or analysis and needs someone to show how it translates. That is who this is for, and that is who I built it for.

Mission Statement

SHCI exists to close the distance between complex technology and bedside care. We do it two ways: practical Healthcare IT strategy for organizations, and specialized training and mentorship for the consultants and leaders who deliver it. Both rest on the same conviction: an EHR only works as well as the people using it understand it, and that understanding is built, not assumed.
